High pillow for reflux sufferers
It all started with pillow 2540, 30 cm high.
But although the pillow quickly became popular, it was not suitable for everyone. The high angle and not very long surface (64 cm) on which the user of the pillow leaned made lying on the back for a long time not very comfortable.
A high pillow is convenient to use under the back while watching TV or reading, as well as under the legs.
But our task was to make our clients comfortable during sleep and rest with reflux. In short, we needed to find a solution for those who found our first pillow uncomfortable.
A comfortable pillow for reflux: longer and lower
How to sleep properly with GERD? Having listened to the request of a gastroenterologist who contacted us and customer feedback, we launched the production of anti-reflux pillow 2540S 15 cm high with a smaller angle of inclination and a longer “sleeping place” (72.5 cm).
It really turned out to be much more comfortable to lie down, but it did not solve all the problems for which the pillow was bought. Someone needed a greater height, and someone was not sure what height was needed for him.
Adjustable pillow for reflux
And our next development was an uncompromising option for the greatest comfort - A wedge for reflux from two parts J2540D. By purchasing this pillow, the customer essentially receives three pillows of different heights.
How to sleep on a wedge-shaped pillow? In the beginning, you can try to lie down on both parts of the product with a total height of 30 cm and a “sleeping area” length of 75 cm, observe the sensations and symptoms.
If there is relief of the symptoms of the disease or the angle is too high, you can use one part of the pillow, 18 cm high.
At the final stage of treatment or if it is comfortable and the symptoms allow it, you can try sleeping on the part of the pillow 12 cm high.
By using both parts of the product, you can increase the length of the pillow by slightly shifting its upper part. This function may be useful if you are tall or for another reason you want to lengthen the pillow. In this case, the bottom part of the product should be 12 cm high, and the top part should be 18 cm.
But we didn’t stop there. In order to further improve the quality of life of our customers, after various tests we have developed an additional memory head pillow.
The point is that thanks to the protrusions on the sides, the head does not fall when sleeping on the back. The height is optimal for this body position, and the material with a memory effect pleasantly takes the shape of the head.
A small update. We have created a fourth pillow for reflux! Wide Wedge 15 cm high, 72.5 cm long and 73 cm wide. This is the most comfortable option, suitable for those with broad shoulders/backs or just those who need a wider pillow.
What does economics and victory have to do with it
Thanks to customer requests, as well as the active position of the company's employees, our customers have the opportunity to choose a wedge-shaped pillow for reflux that is convenient for them. Now each of the above products finds its buyers. Our pillows are sold not only in Ukraine, but also in the Czech Republic, Poland, Germany, Austria. Although this is a small case study on the example of a niche product and a small enterprise, it is interesting to observe how the market economy works, which gives rise to demand, and then supply, and as a result - benefits for society and the economy.
